The graffiti artist painting whole towns - with elephants
South African graffiti artist, Falko One, is widely regarded as an integral part of the country's street art scene and he's travelled around the world showcasing his work. But after running art workshops with schools in some of the poorer areas of his native Cape Town he was struck by the idea of going to a small town, painting every home, and creating a living gallery for its residents -- and so the Once Upon A Town project was born. Now, they've become tourist attractions with visitors paying to have their photo taken with the art work. He told Newsday's Nkem Ifejika why he decided to paint huge, brightly coloured sharks, birds, elephants and other animals on people's houses.
