England want 'rugby heroes'
RFU president and World Cup winner Jason Leonard says England want 'rugby heroes'.
On Saturday, Eddie Jones’ team sealed their first Grand Slam for 13 years with victory over France in Paris.
Leonard won four Grand Slams as a player, as well as the 2003 World Cup, and wants the current England side to create a new generation of household names.
"We want boys and girls growing up saying ‘I wanna to be the next Chris Robshaw, Mike Brown, Rochelle Clarke', all those sorts of players," said the former front row.
Ex-England scrum-half Matt Dawson added he was "fed up to the back teeth" of bleating on about 2003 and his World Cup success with England.
"It's a generation ago, we want to be hearing from the James Haskells, Billy Vunipolas, Maro Itojes - I want those players to be the heroes," he said.
