Midtjylland chairman defends Man United ticket price

Midtjylland chairman Rasmus Ankerson has defended selling tickets for Thursday's Europa League match with Manchester United for £71.

United fans are planning to protest at the cost of admission for the first leg of their last-32 tie at the Danish champions' 11,800-capacity MCH Arena.

Southampton supporters were charged £22 to attend a Europa League play-off match at the same venue in August.

“It’s a big game for the region, we could have taken it to another stadium and sold 50,000 or 60,000 tickets, but wanted to dedicate this game to the fans who come every week," he told Mark Chapman on 5 live Sport.

“Our fans have not complained about it. I understand the frustrations of the Man United fans but we have to try to make everyone happy."
