'I want to work with A$AP Rocky' - Dua Lipa talks dark pop and hip hop influences
Clara meets Dua Lipa to chat about her debut single Be The One and how it feels to have made the BBC Music Sound Of 2016 longlist. She also talks about mixing upbeat pop tunes with darker lyrics and hip hop influences, and how she hasn't even performed live properly yet.
"Be The One is the only song on my album I haven't written. I'm usually really stubborn...I've always had this thing where I want to write everything and I like having control...and then I got sent this song and I couldn't not take it, it's my favourite thing."
"I get up and do acoustic stuff, but with my band I haven't really done anything proper yet, so rehearsals have been really fun, and I'm still learning, but I'm ready for it, I'm excited."
"I wrote my first song when I was fourteen and it was called Lions, Tigers & Bears, it's actually still on my Soundcloud."
