Gomorrah author Saviano on fears for future

Roberto Saviano, the author of a 2006 expose about the power and brutality of the Naples mafia, has told BBC HARDtalk he is afraid of having to live the rest of his life under police protection.

Mr Saviano explained that he was not afraid of dying because the mafia has spoken so often about his death.

"I feel it's very remote, as if I was looking at another person," he said, but added it would be “awful” to continue to live the way he is.
