Cyprus 'abduction attempt': Should we be worried?

Experts believe "misconceptions" about how regularly children are abducted can lead to overprotective parents.

Delphine Moralis, Secretary General of Missing Children Europe, said that it was important to "put things in perspective" and understand that cases of child abduction are "extremely rare".

Charlie Hedges, an independent advisor who works with organisations which search for missing and abducted children agreed that parents should not be "overly concerned".

Their comments came after British holidaymakers staying at a complex in Cyprus became suspicious of people who they claimed were deliberately watching or attempting to lead young children away from the hotel.
