Arthur Numan: 'Advocaat always dreamed of coaching in England'

Arthur Numan has given a glowing recommendation to his former manager Dick Advocaat, who has been appointed as Sunderland boss for the rest of the season.

"He's a coach with a lot of experience," says Numan. "He always said that it was his dream to become a coach in England."

Numan was signed by Advocaat as a teenager for HFC Haarlem, and the pair linked up again at Rangers, as well as for the Dutch national side.

"The moment he arrives in England, the players will notice he's around. The moment when he's on the training ground, he's working with the team."

"I think the press are going to love him as well because he is outspoken, he has an opinion about football, and, it's a challenge to keep them there in the Premier League, and maybe if that is possible, he will stay maybe for another year, or another two years."
