Smartphone app 'helps autistic users alleviate stress'

A prototype smartphone app has been developed by researchers at Lancaster University to record and alleviate the stress experienced by people with autism.

When users squeeze a pressure-sensitive ball, the app logs the information to show moments of social anxiety.

The app also responds to the data, sending a message to a friend or relative asking for help when the user undergoes high levels of stress.
