Dylan Thomas reads A Refusal to Mourn the Death, by Fire, of a Child in London

An elegy, first published in the magazine ‘New Republic’ in May 1945 at the very end of the European Second World War - written after Thomas heard news of a young girl who had died when the house she was in was set on fire during an air raid. Dylan Thomas is the reader. First broadcast of this poem was in September 1945, as the war drew to a close.
