The end of the Great War in 1918

The armistice came at 11 o'clock on 11 November 1918. It was greeted by vast celebrations throughout Britain and across Europe, but many soldiers experienced mixed emotions, some wanted to beat the retreating enemy all the way back to Germany.

A group of First World War veterans remember their experiences at the end of the war.
