A sign of recovery in the US - the number of new jobs created in the last month was well ahead of most analysts' forecasts. Could this be the end of monetary stimulus?

In Brazil, the poster child for the country's economic boom is dealing with a major bust. Brazilian billionaire Eike Batista is picking up the pieces of the major conglomerate he owns after it collapsed.

And a country in economic turmoil - The Greek government is under pressure to shed 4,000 public sector jobs - or lose the next instalment of its bail out cash from the EU, the IMF and the European Central Bank. The BBC's Nigel Cassidy is in Athens with the latest.
