A Room for London

A special edition of The Strand all about A Room for London.

Throughout 2012 a model of a boat has been perched above the river Thames, and writers have taken up residence inside.

Kamila Shamsie, Juan Gabriel Vasquez and Alain Mabanckou tell The Strand what it was like to live in a boat on a roof observing London and thinking about novelist Joseph Conrad, whose own boat and novel The Heart of Darkness, was part of the inspiration for the project.
