High Speed Newspaper Printing and Give-away Promotions
Modern newspapers are printed in full colour using high speed technology, but it doesn’t make them sell. They increasingly need to be accompanied by special offers or promotional give-aways. Presenter, Janet Street-Porter, visits News International’s latest printing press, which can produce 86,000 papers per hour. She also investigates some of the strategies press proprietors are trying in order to increase circulation. These include reducing cover prices and offering a whole range of freebies. Featured contributors include: Brian Magee from News International and Paul Gooden from ABN AMRO.
