Global superstars of distance running and wheelchair racing go head to head, including four-time Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah, who defends his 2018 title against New York Marathon champion Lelisa Desisa and Boston Marathon champion Lawrence Cherono. In the women’s competition two of the world’s best battle for supremacy as New York champion Mary Keitany takes on London Marathon champion Birgid Kosgei. And in the wheelchair race 2018 champion David Weir defends his title.

In addition to the elite athletes, 57,000 entrants have signed up to raise money and awareness for good causes, some of which we’ll hear about during the programme as JJ Chalmers, Radzi Chinyanganya and Jeanette Kwakye bring us live updates from around the course.
