Rory started the decade in style, performing at the 1970 Isle of Wight festival with his band Taste, before kicking off his solo career in 1971 with his self-titled debut album. He would go on to release 9 further albums that decade. During the 70s, Gallagher collaborated with everyone from Jerry Lee Lewis to Muddy Waters, played on Lonnie Donegan's final album and almost ended up joining Deep Purple,
