In More Detail.....

Flatholm is a small island just 5 miles off the coast from Cardiff. It's undergoing a £1.3m transformation in a joint effort between Cardiff Council, RSPB Cymru and the Flat Holm Society. Rachael Garside takes a boat trip to find out more about the renovations which include work on the Grade II-listed Fog Horn Station; stabilising the Grade II-listed cholera hospital and laundry buildings and repairing the Victorian water catchment system on the island. Environmental works will also be carried out to improve habitats for Lesser Black-Backed Gulls and to provide more activities for visitors on the island.
