Tom presents his own unique blend of music in his own inimitable style. Would you expect anything less? This week he’s joined by London folk artist Hak Baker. But this isn’t any ol’ Folk musician, this guy is spearheading the “G-Folk” movement, as the websites lazily hail him. Honest tales of eating chicken and chips and trying to make a living in the tough city that is London are central to his stories. He’s reinventing Folk and positioning in a place it needs to be; modern, urban tales told from the heart. There’s also a guest mix from Bristol DJ and producer Jake Martin AKA Hodge. After hearing the brooding Exogenesis EP we had to get him on to bring the cold this Winter. He’s remixed the likes of Moderat and Leftfield and has collaborated with Randomer and Sweden’s Peder Mannerfelt - producer of Fever Ray - so this gives you an idea of the direction Hodge is continuing to head. Expect dark bass and pulsing rhythms, probably best listened to with the lights on.
