Alpesh Chauhan conducts the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, from Symphony Hall, Birmingham – featuring the pianist Pavel Kolesnikov. Their programme, recorded for BBC Music Day, is entitled 'Italian Moments' and evokes the beautiful atmosphere of the 'bel paese', ending with Respighi's grandiose and festive paean to pageantry, his symphonic poem Feste Romane.
