Caoimhe Ní Chathail

Coláiste Lurgan ag cothú ceolteoirí le Gaeilge, Rós Thrá Lí agus cluas siar ar Féile Sunflower. Coláiste Lurgan’s NuaNós scheme, Rose of Tralee and the Sunflower Festival.

Labhraíonn Caoimhe Ní Chathail le Bainisteoir Choláiste Lurgan, Mícheál Ó Foighil, faoi NuaNós - scéim shamhraidh a spreag amhránaithe is scríbhneoirí óga le ceol úr Gaeilge a chumadh. Cluineann muid ó Ola Majekodunmi maidir le Rós Thrá Lí agus an chiall atá le Gael nó Éireannach i sochaí an lae inniu. Ar deireadh, tá an geimhreadh ag druidim linn ach ní bhíonn scamall gan gealán – éisteann muid siar le craic Féile Sunflower an tsamhraidh.

Caoimhe Ní Chathail chats to Mícheál Ó Foighil of Coláiste Lurgan about their NuaNós summer scheme encouraging young singer-songwriters to compose in the Irish language. We hear from Ola Majekodunmi about the Rose of Tralee and what it means to be Irish in today’s society. Also, even though the winter months are closing in, there’s always a silver lining! We hear some of the craic that was had at this year’s Sunflower Festival.
