Wales at the Edinburgh Festival

Kiri Pritchard-McLean showcases the pick of the Welsh performances at this year's Edinburgh Festival and provides an insight into the work that goes into putting on the shows.

Edinburgh in August is host to the world's biggest arts festival, and it's an important showcase for a large number of Welsh performers. Every year, Welsh and Wales-based comedians, musicians, actors and entertainers come to Edinburgh for the Festival, including presenter Kiri Pritchard-McLean. Anglesey-born Kiri is a comedian with her own show at the Fringe, and she is our guide to this mad, frantic, noisy and exhausting month in the Scottish capital. Kiri brings us the the pick of the Welsh performances and gives an insight into the work that goes into putting on shows in venues all over the city. Comedian Tudur Owen gives us his take on how to stand out from the crowd, and we catch up with students from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama who run a venue on the Royal Mile. Plus we call in on performances from Welsh theatre companies Hijinx and Dirty Protest.
