30 years ago, Public Enemy rewrote the rulebook when it came to sampling. It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back is a stone cold hip hop classic. It influenced changes to the law when it came to using samples, and that's why it couldn't be made today.

Huey celebrates the legacy of the album as well as playing tracks from it. He'll look at the artists that inspired the record, artists like Marvin Gaye whose album What's Goin' On? was a key influence on the way Chuck D et al put together It Takes A Nation.

In the show you can expect to hear a whole lot of Public Enemy, plus tracks by Rage Against The Machine, John Coltrane, The Last Poets, Gil Scott-Heron, and Run The Jewels.
