Stephen Hough plays Beethoven's passionate Piano Sonata No. 23 - posthumously nicknamed the 'Appassionata'. Roderick Williams sings part of Schubert's song-cycle Schwanengesang, featuring poetry by Heine. The other songs from the cycle can be heard in tomorrow's programme.
