Funeral Plan Selling; Neighbourhood Watch: Dining Alone

The websites that claim to offer comparisons of funeral plans but instead just generate leads that are sold onto agents. Is dining alone now socially acceptable?

We investigate funeral plan comparison sites. Some websites that claim to offer comparisons of funeral plans may just be generating leads that are sold on to agents or funeral companies. Whilst there are sites that do allow you to compare funeral plans and services, much as you can with energy or insurance products, others do not provide any information up front at all. Instead they ask for your personal details which are then sold on to interested agents. The Funeral Planning Authority says funeral plan providers should not be working with websites that mislead customers.

Is dining out alone now socially acceptable? The Waitrose Food and Drink Report survey found that three quarters of us think it is. Has our confidence in asking for a table for one led to more new restaurants opening?

According to recent police figures, incidents of burglary and car theft have increased in the last two years, despite a long term decline over the last two decades. It's led some neighbours to form crime reporting groups using online forums, apps and websites. We examine how these groups work, and if there are any risks. Has the neighbourhood watch moved online?

Despite what they do for a living, comedians notoriously have a rather dark view of life, and many high profile comics have spoken about their mental health problems. A number of comedians have recently published self help books, covering addiction, self confidence and even parenting. Is there anything we can learn from comics, and is it really the place we'd want to go for advice? We speak to stand up comedian Sam Avery..
