Bananarama

Angela Merkel and the outcome of the German elections; Audrey Hepburn; Bananarama reunited and on a UK tour; Confessions of a Married Woman.

She's considered the most powerful woman in Europe, and now she's entered her fourth term in power - we discuss the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel. We hear from Stefanie Bolzen, the London correspondent for Die Welt, the German national daily newspaper, and Juliane Loffler, editor of LGBTQ and feminism at Buzzfeed Germany.

Items from the personal collection of the screen icon, Audrey Hepburn, are to be auctioned at Christie's this week. Jane met Audrey Hepburn's sons, Sean Hepburn Ferrer and Luca Dotti to find out more about their memories of their mother and the items which are going under the hammer.

They've come to define 80s pop, are the most successful girl group of all time, have 30 chart hits to their name, and were the blueprint for the Spice Girls. Bananarama were pop stars with a punk spirit. Yet in 1988, after almost ten years together, they had a very painful split, when Siobhan Fahey walked out on Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward. Now, almost 30 years on they're back - reuniting for a UK wide tour. Bananarama join Jane to look back on their eighties heyday and to reflect on how their lives have changed since they first formed in 1981.

Married women in Egypt are encouraged to keep the problems of their married lives behind closed doors. But an Egyptian woman named Zeinab Al Ashry started to change that when she created a secret group on Facebook. "Confessions of a Married Woman" is a virtual space for them to vent their anger and concerns. She spoke to Jane to explain that although a lot of women find her page a place to learn from other's experience, some find her page depressing and accuse her of scaring young women from getting married.
