Hero - a person of noble qualities - brave, courageous, upright and true. Villain - cruel, evil, do-er of dastardly deeds - the bad guy ...or woman.

Where would a good story be without heroes and villains - the goodies and baddies that colour the plot and whose antics keep us enthralled, on the edge of our seats or hiding behind the sofa. Tonight, Friday Night is Music Night returns to the Kings Lynn Festival for a programme of music that reflects the good, the bad... and the ugly. Our musical heroes and villains include - Darth Vader; Ross Poldark; Robin Hood; Batman; Spartacus; Lawrence of Arabia; Don Giovanni and Captain Jack Sparrow. There'll be skirmishes, swash buckling, derring do and there'll be Game of Thrones.

Richard Balcombe conducts the fearless BBC Concert Orchestra and our guest artists are soprano Jeni Bern and baritone Adrian Der Gregorian along with violin virtuosi Vladimir and Anton who prove that the devil doesn't always have the best tunes.

We spend our interval in Kings Lynn Gaol and find out about local baddie King John who allegedly fled Kings Lynn and lost the Crown Jewels in the Wash.

Programme first broadcast in August 2017.
