Tom McKinney presents a concert of new music from City, University of London with composer Jack Sheen directing his new ensemble An Assembly. All of the music is written by composers in their twenties - Laurie Tompkins, Maya Verlaak, Oliver Leith, Paul McGuire, Eleanor Cully and Louis D'Heudieres - showcasing the huge range of composition in the UK today. Plus 70 flutes and 70 saxophones wish Salvatore Sciarrino a happy 70th birthday, with a little bit of help from a countertenor, in his amazing Studi per l'intonazione del mare.
