Countdown to Record Store Day

Lauren visits Vinyl Tap in Huddersfield ahead of Record Store Day with a Prince Tribute Mix from Alexis Taylor, plus Kate Tempest talks about being a Record Store Day ambassador.

Lauren decamps to Vinyl Tap in Huddersfield to build up to Record Store Day on Saturday (22nd April).

We'll be celebrating independent record shops and featuring previews of exclusive releases, plus chatting to Kate Tempest about being a Record Store Day ambassador and recording a track straight to vinyl to celebrate.

Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip provides a live Desert Island Disco mix on honour of Prince, who passed away a year ago.

We're joined by Simon Armitage to tell us about his appearance on The Wedding Present's RSD release.

Lauren also welcomes local band Fold who'll be live in session. Encompassing funk, jazz, soul and psyche, they'll be bringing their fusion of music and archive recordings along for a special performance at Vinyl Tap.

Presented in association with BBC Music it's the second time we've hit the road to celebrate all things vinyl, following an excellent morning in Brighton's Resident Music last year with Fat Boy Slim and Tim Burgess.
