Fiona Talkington with a vocal special

Fiona Talkington presents a vocal special exploring the wonders of the human voice. With music from Faustus, Meredith Monk and Tigran Hamasyan with Arve Henriksen.

Fiona Talkington presents a vocal special exploring the wonders of the human voice. Music comes from improvising vocalists Phil Minton and Lauren Newton; pianist Tigran Hamasyan and trumpeter Arve Henriksen, who offer their take on a vocal piece by the Armenian composer Komitas; and musical polymath Meredith Monk, ahead of her tenure as Radio 3's Composer of the Week.

Also on the programme ethereal ambience from London-based multi instrumentalists Padang Food Tigers and magical musical mayhem from The Thing and Thurston Moore.

Produced by Alannah Chance for Reduced Listening.
