Saint-Saens, Quilter, Bach and Mahler

With Alec Frank-Gemmill (horn) performing music by Saint-Saens, Kathryn Rudge (mezzo-soprano) in Quilter, Beatrice Rana (piano) in Bach and Peter Moore (trombone) in Mahler.

Clemency Burton-Hill celebrates the music making of the BBC New Generation Artists. Each Saturday lunchtime over the summer, there's a chance to hear a starry line-up of young musicians caught by the BBC microphones as they embark on their international careers. Today Beatrice Rana plays Bach for the first time in the UK and Kathryn Rudge sings three favourite songs by Roger Quilter. And, to start with, Alec Frank-Gemmill and Alasdair Beatson team up at the Finchcocks Musical Museum for Saint-Saëns on period instruments.
