Jesus Christ Superstar began life as a 1970 concept album before making its Broadway debut in 1971, transferring to London's West End a year later and hitting the big screen in 1973. Originally banned by the BBC for being "sacrilegious", this all-star cast production was recorded for BBC Radio 2 in 1996.
