The world-renowned rock opera that propelled Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber into the musicals firmament.

Jesus Christ Superstar began life as a 1970 concept album before making its Broadway debut in 1971, transferring to London's West End a year later and hitting the big screen in 1973. Originally banned by the BBC for being "sacrilegious", this all-star cast production was recorded for BBC Radio 2 in 1996.

Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet) stars as Jesus with Roger Daltrey (The Who) as Judas, Frances Ruffelle as Mary Magdalene, Julian Clary as King Herod, John Barr as Simon, Jeff Shankley as Pilate, Bogdan Kominowski as Annas and Gary Martin as Caiaphas

Sung all the way through, this timeless and powerful work explores the final days of Christ as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.
