30 years after Marvin Gaye was shot and killed by his father, we celebrate his musical legacy. We'll be playing listener suggestions and contemporary remixes of some of Marvin Gaye's finest work. Grammy nominated songwriter and producer Owen Parker, will be deconstructing the hit song 'What's Going On?'. And we'll be giving you a taste of the Trouble Man documentary broadcast on Radio 2 this week. It's a personal journey of Marvin Gaye's life told by his second wife Janis Gaye. At 8pm Craig gives you 30 minutes of back-to-back tunes, in The Trunk of Funk. Plus we continue the chart the History of Women in Funk & Soul. This week we shine the spotlight on Ruth Brown who had a huge impact on the 50's R&B sound.
