Sound of Cinema
From the ominous, rumbling strings at the start of Jaws to the Gallic lyricism permeating Jean de Florette, music has the ability to tell a far more subtle story than pictures and dialogue alone. It can lift a film off the screen and transport the viewer to other worlds.
Matthew Sweet brings his passion and knowledge of film to this weekly foray into the art of film music.
Each week he takes the music for a new film release and uses it as the starting point for an exploration of movie soundtracks on a theme from the back catalogue.
Please note that, for reasons beyond our control, not all Sound of Cinema programmes are podcastable.
