Passionate Italian and seasoned restaurateur Aldo Zilli, and Bulgarian born-chef de patron of Mayfair's Quince, Silvena Rowe, hit the road in their classic Citroen van in a culinary cook-off that takes them to several of Britain's best loved country shows. They start at Nevern on the beautiful South Wales coast, where they enter a savoury supper dish into the Nevern Agricultural and Horticultural Show.
They also meet up with local fish shop owner Mandy, whose husband Len fishes just off the coast, and she hopes to impress the chefs with her very own delicious crab cake recipe. But the culinary crusaders cannot hang around, as they have a supper dish to prepare, with judge Elonwy James to impress. How will the highly experienced chefs fair against the best Nevern has to offer?
