Chi-chi Nwanoku introduces more listeners' favourites. Today Ian Bostridge at his most radiant in Bach's Ich habe genug, Dohnanyi's 2nd Piano Concerto comes out gleaming, and there's brooding choral music by Thomas Ades plus cool orchestral textures from Danish composer Poul Ruders. And in a programme dominated by music from the former Austro-Hungarian empire Schubert's Variations in A Flat Major for piano duet shares a platform with a movement from Franz Schmidt's fascinating Piano Quintet; a work written for Paul Wittgenstein, the left-handed pianist wounded in the First World War. Today's guest requester is lawyer, music-lover and supporter Felix Appelbe.
