Tender, comic and lyrical, this is his account of the spiritual struggle between a lonely boy and his charismatic father.

Dramatised in two parts by Nick Warburton.

Starring Derek Jacobi as Edmund Gosse, Roger Allam as Phlip Henry Gosse, Steven Williams as Young Edmund, Kate Buffery as Emily Gosse, Colleen Prendergast as Miss Marks, Sophie Roberts as Mary Grace, Ann Beach as Miss Flaw, Ayesha Antoine as Kate and Geoff Felix as Mr Punch.

Other parts played by Gerard McDermott, Delroy Brown, Nick Sayce and members of the cast.
