Radio 1's Big Weekend returns with Harry, Dua and much, much more!
Big Weekend 2020 has been announced and Radio 1 will be bringing some of pop's biggest, brightest acts to… DUNDEE!
Last years’ epic event in Middlesbrough saw the likes of The 1975, Miley, twenty one pilots and Billie Eilish perform and the first names on the 2020 bill are equally as impressive.
Get to know this year's massive Big Weekend acts below - and keep listening to Radio 1 for more line-up announcements, plus information on how and when to get tickets.
It's due to be lit - see you lot there!AJ Tracey
AJ Tracey's 'Ladbroke Grove' was one of the songs of Summer 2019, the perfect soundtrack to warm weekends with its sunkissed, throwback to classic UK garage. So who better to kick off Summer 2020 than the West London MC? We're sure things are going to go off when AJ hits the stage.
AJ says: "I can't wait to be at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Dundee. It's due to be lit - see you lot there!"
By the time Biffy Clyro play Big Weekend, they could very well have new music out in the world. The band have teased that their next album will be "a lot more rocking" than 2016's 'Ellipsis', going as far as to describe it as an "overyielding beast". If that doesn't get you excited for the Scottish band's something of a homecoming set at Big Weekend, then we don't know what will.
Calvin's been responsible for some of the biggest bangers of the past few years. The irresistible 'Promises' with Sam Smith, the huge 'Giant' with Rag'n'Bone Man and who can forget his all-star combo with Dua, 'One Kiss'? Seeing as both will find themselves in Dundee, could Big Weekend see a live team-up between the pair? We can only hope!
Radio 1 has been a huge part of my journey so I am beyond excited to be coming back to Big Weekend!Camila Cabello
2019 was a huge year for Camila. 'Señorita', her saucy duet with Shawn Mendes, went No.1 in both the UK and US, as well as pretty much every other country you can think of (36 different countries in total!). And 2020 looks like it's shaping up to be eventful for the 'Havana' star too, recently teaming up with DaBaby, a world tour on the cards and now, a performance at Big Weekend 2020! (You'll probably remember that Camila played 2018's Biggest Weekend in Swansea.)
Camila says: "Radio 1 has been a huge part of my journey over the last few years so I am beyond excited to be coming back to Big Weekend! It’s going to super fun to perform for you guys in Scotland."
Dua's disco reinvention has given us a lot of life, especially her recent bop 'Don't Start Now'. She's set to release her second album 'Future Nostalgia' later this year and hopefully we'll get a bit of a taster at Big Weekend of what else she has in store. We're sure it'll get us dancing!
