Radio Holby - exclusive online webisodes!

The first of two exclusive webisodes will go live on the Casualty website after this Saturday’s main episode on BBC One.

Ideas for these exclusive webisodes were submitted by the show's junior editorial team, but it was team researcher Ross Southard who was victorious with his pitch entitled ‘Radio Holby’.

Both directed by Kodjo Tsakpo and shot by Simon Walton, part one was written by Simon Norman who was story assistant at time of writing, and is now script editor on the show.

Part two was written by Ross Southard, who recently won team member of the year at the BBC Production Awards for his achievements.

The two webisodes of Radio Holby focus on Noel (played by Tony Marshall) who has always dreamt of being a radio DJ. Noel thinks now is the perfect time to give his dreams flight, especially as he sees how badly the team need a boost after the recent death of their colleague, Jeff (Matt Bardock).

Ross Southard said: “It has been a fantastic experience writing a webisode for Casualty and to see our scripts realised by some of the best in the business. I’m very proud and grateful to the ever brilliant and ever supportive Casualty team for the opportunity to bring this idea to life.

Erika Hossington, Series Producer, said: "Casualty has some fantastic talent working behind the scenes as well as on screen and I was delighted when our website commissioned Ross’s idea. Everyone who worked on the webisodes stepped up a level, and with their passion, enthusiasm and dedication totally focussed on making the best finished product, the end result is a real treat for our website visitors and fans."

Part one of Radio Holby will be live on the BBC One Casualty website post episode on Saturday 18 October, with the part two airing after episode eight on Saturday 25 October.
