The ultimate Proms premieres quiz
As the world’s greatest classical music festival, the BBC Proms has a well-earned reputation for championing music of the past. But the Proms is also a place where new classics are created.
The embracing of new music is an ethos that started right at the beginning with the Proms’s co-founder Sir Henry Wood, who conducted more than 700 premieres during his tenure (1895-1944). Since then, the Proms has played host to hundreds more, many of which have become audience favourites and classics in their own right.
