Rebel Rebel: Celebrating Bowie at the Proms

On 29 July, London's Royal Albert Hall was packed – and we mean packed – with Bowie fans.

Those fans included some big names. The Divine Comedy frontman Neil Hannon was joined on stage by Elf Kid for This is Not America.

Paul Buchanan of The Blue Nile sounded uncannily like Bowie in a stripped-back arrangement of Ashes to Ashes.

Anna Calvi, Amanda Palmer and Jherek Bischoff formed a powerful trio in Blackstar, the title track from Bowie’s final album.

Everyone was on their feet for Heroes – transformed into an uplifting hoe-down by Amanda Palmer and s t a r g a z e.
