Tonight's The Night – the show which makes dreams come true – returns to BBC One with host John Barrowman.

Whether it's duetting with their music idol, dancing with the cast of their favourite musical or going head to head with a sporting superstar, over the next seven weeks John will turn dreams into reality for members of the public.

As always, John will be surprising unsuspecting and deserving people who have absolutely no idea that their friends and family have nominated them for a Tonight's The Night experience.

It's John's job to break the news – often with hilarious consequences – as he surprises them at work, school or out and about shopping. Their reactions to being in the spotlight are not to be missed.

On the first show of the new series, a mum of three who devotes herself to charity work duets with a international soul superstar; while a young lad from Walsall dreams of dancing with Diversity. True to form, they offer him the chance of a lifetime.

Also this week, John arranges for West End star Lee Mead and the cast of hit musical Wicked to help two girls from Wales achieve their dream of performing a song in memory of their friend.

John says: "I am just thrilled that Tonight's The Night is coming back to BBC One. I can't wait to make the nation's performance dreams come true."

Packed full of surprises and magical moments, Tonight's The Night is the show that really can make dreams come true.

Tonight's The Night is simulcast on the BBC HD channel – the BBC's High Definition channel, available through Freesat 108, Freeview 50, Sky 143 and Virgin 108.
