The 2017 Oscars ceremony began once the stars had taken their seats at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, USA.

The award was initially given to La La Land as the wrong envelope had been handed to actor Warren Beatty who was presenting the award! Oops!

There was a lot of confusion for a few moments before Jordan Horowitz of La La Land graciously announced it should have gone to Moonlight.

Host Jimmy Kimmel organised for people taking an Los Angeles bus tour to appear at the awards show as a surprise. Two of the guests told Kimmel they're getting married in December, so he got actor Denzel Washington to perform an spontaneous ceremony in the front row of the theatre. Thank goodness she had a seflie stick!

La La Land took seven awards including one to Emma Stone for best actress. It's her first Oscar win, although she has been nominated once before. Hollywood rumours say she will play Cruella De Vil in the coming remake of 101 Dalmations.
