The Rio Paralympic Games kicked off last night with wheelchair acrobatics, colourful dancing and a huge firework display - take a look at our photo gallery.
The ceremony started with a spectacular stunt, as American Aaron "Wheelz" Fotheringham, hurtled down a massive ramp in a wheelchair and performed a back flip through a giant ring.

The parade of nations starts. The first 'nation' out is the Independent Paralympic Athletes, led by Syrian refugee Ibrahim Al Hussein. Each nation carried a jigsaw piece. On one side was the country's name, on the other an image of all the athletes taking part.

Equestrian rider Lee Pearson, who has won 10 gold medals, led Great Britain out and said: "That was one of the most amazing experiences of my entire life. I am a proud Brit and I'm even more proud now after leading the ParalympicsGB athletes out."

Finally the flame was lit despite heavy rain and the crowd went wild. The flame being lit marked the official beginning of the 2016 Rio Paralympics - let the Games begin!
