Legendary BBC broadcaster Sir Terry Wogan, who has passed away, has been an important part of Children in Need since its first major Appeal back in 1980.

We've been looking back at Sir Terry's time with CiN, in pictures...

Since the first major Appeal in 1980 BBC Children in Need has raised more than £790 million, all of which has gone to help disadvantaged children and young people around the UK.
Sir Terry in 1981 - Children in Need aims raise money to change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

There was always room for fun - in 2014 Sir Terry took to the stage with Tom & Jerry, along with The Saturday's Rochelle Humes.
In the most recent show in 2015 for an exclusive Star Wars themed sketch as they attempt to find a Star Wars super fan to trigger the first BBC Children in Need totaliser of the night.
