Mario Balotelli has said sorry for posting a picture on social media that referred to racial stereotypes of black and Jewish people.
The Liverpool striker quickly deleted the image, which included Nintendo computer game character Super Mario, after posting it.
He first denied it was offensive, but later tweeted: "I apologise if I've offended anyone. The post was meant to be anti-racist with humour. I now understand that out of context may have the opposite effect."
The Football Association is going to investigate the post.
Balotelli's club, Liverpool, have said they are going to speak to him about it.
