Rare crane chicks hatched at Zoo

Two cute little crane chicks have been born at a Zoo.
Two West-African black-crowned crane chicks have been born at Chester Zoo and are the first of their kind to hatch in the UK this year!

Although the chicks are currently small, fluffy and yellow, it won't be long until they grow their trademark golden feathers on their head like their parents.

The cranes are known for their impressive and elaborate dances. It looks like this young chick is already practicing some moves!

West-African black-crowed cranes are very rare in the wild and are listed as vulnerable to extinction by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
