A high-speed salmon cannon that can fire fish upstream has been revealed.

It was designed by scientists in the United States to help fish get where they want to go.

The fish swim to the sea as adults, but head back up rivers and streams to lay their eggs.

Scientists say things like dams and water pipes mean many salmon lose their way back upstream, so the salmon cannon can help them on their way.

The team at Whooshh Innovations say the fish happily swim into the device by themselves and are not injured.
