Pictures: How the Newsround website has changed over time
It is celebrating its 25th birthday, and over that time the world wide web has changed a lot - just look at how the Newsround website has changed!
...to the way the modern site looks. Pictures are bigger and more eye catching, and the page is wider to fit modern screens. But as these pics prove, the world wide web is changing all the time, so how long will the Newsround site look like this?
Move forward three years, and things have changed a lot. Quizzes, message boards and picture galleries have all appeared as the web becomes more about the audience getting involved. This page from 2001 is from just after the terror attacks in New York.
Here it is - the earliest Newsround webpage we could find from way back in 1997. It was during the build up to that year's general election - and doesn't it look different? Forget your video pages and picture galleries, it is just text with a couple of colourful pictures.
By 2003, Newsround fans can listen to clips on the website as well as watching the TV bulletins whenever they like. New technology also lets the Newsround team make the website look much more colourful. But it's amazing how dated it looks now.
It's the build up to the 2008 American elections, and the website has another new look. The new blue site lets viewers watch video clips and looks tidier and cooler...which is something that has been carried on...
2005 and the NR website goes all purple. Comments from viewers take pride of place on the front page, as what Newsround viewers think about stories becomes more and more important to the site. Here you can see comments on the terror attacks in London from July that year.
