The Rio Carnival has taken place in Brazil, South America. It's considered to be the biggest carnival on the planet!

One of the main highlights of Rio Carnival is the samba parade, where the best samba schools compete against each other by trying to put on the best show.

It takes several months to prepare everything, such as the parade theme, costumes and floats.

This samba school has gone for a football theme to celebrate the World Cup, which is taking place in Brazil later this year.

Thousands of spectators come to watch the colourful show, which takes place over two days at the Sambadrome.

Rio Carnival always takes place in the run-up to the Christian festival of Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday.

As well as the samba parade, hundreds of street parties have been taking place all over Rio.

The samba schools are judged on 10 different categories, including their song, their costumes and their floats and props.
