Liverpool have risen to second place in the Premier League title race, after beating Southampton 3-0.

The goals came from Luis Suarez, Raheem Sterling and a Steven Gerrard penalty at St Mary's Stadium on Saturday.

"We've certainly got a chance of competing [for the title]," Gerrard said. "It's a really big win and it sends out a message."

Liverpool have pushed Arsenal down into third on goal difference, after the Gunners' 1-0 defeat at Stoke.
