In September 2014 people living in Scotland will get to vote about whether the country will become independent from the rest of the UK - but it's sparked a debate about money.
The man in charge of money for the UK government, George Osborne said Scotland wouldn't be allowed to share the pound with the rest of the UK if they voted to be independent.
But Scotland's First Minister, Alex Salmond, says he would want to keep the pound if that happens as he thinks it would be bad for both countries if it was to change.
Well, this might seem confusing as Scotland already has different-looking money to England, but it is in fact all the same currency - pound sterling.
